In February of 2003, the agency-based personal lines business of Great American Insurance Group was sold in connection with the public offering of Infinity Property and Casualty Corporation. At that time, American Financial Group, Inc. (Great American’s parent company) retained a 39% ownership interest in Infinity. In December of 2003, American Financial Group sold its remaining shares of Infinity. The following former members of Great American Insurance Group are now owned by Infinity: Atlanta Casualty Companies, Infinity Group, Leader Group and Windsor Group. In addition, Great American Insurance Company transferred to Infinity its personal lines insurance business written through independent agents.
The following members of Great American Insurance Group continue to offer personal auto insurance at competitive rates in selected markets.
The Mid-Continent Group, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, offers preferred, standard and non-standard auto insurance products through independent agents in Oklahoma. Mid-Continent also offers an In-Home Business product covering business personal property and liability exposures in selected states.
